Carla Sirilli's Art

Carla's early art, following the tradition of many Ravenna artists, was dominated by landscapes from the local Romagna countryside.
Her next move, into sculpture using clay, was much more confined to the human form both in the subject of the female body and in the production of a number of busts of family and friends.
Her recent return to painting, both in oils and acrylics, has enabled Carla to draw on both these earlier interests to produce both portraits and paintings from nature, drawn largely from the beautiful countryside of Sabina, where she now lives, and the sweeping beaches of her beloved Ravenna.
Carla has also been experimenting with an approach to her painting in which she lets people, nature, colours and shapes flow freely from her mind onto the canvas to produce works that are representations of her own imagination.
